Condition

Presented in very good antique condition with expected wear consistent with well over a century of careful preservation. The glass remains free from any observed cracks or significant chips and retains excellent clarity with characteristic seed bubbles from the original blowing process.

The hand-painted enamel decoration exhibits scattered losses and gentle surface wear, most noticeably across portions of the lid, consistent with age and careful handling. The original gilt bronze mounts display an attractive aged patina throughout.

The hinged lid opens and closes smoothly. The original clasp remains present but no longer engages with a firm latch; however, the lid rests securely in the closed position. These characteristics are consistent with age and do not detract from the casket’s remarkable decorative presence or historical authenticity.
